For California, New York and some other states trying to position themselves as safe havens for those seeking abortions, a federal court ruling this week could be a setback, adding barriers to obtaining one of the two drugs usually used in combination to end pregnancies with medication.A ruling from the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans on Wednesday partially overturned a lower court, which said earlier this month that mifepristone sales should be stopped while its initial approval by the Food and Drug Administration, in 2000, is reconsidered. But the new ruling came with a catch: The drug must be used in compliance with the FDA’s prescribing rules from 2000 rather than a series of more permissive regulations adopted starting in 2016. For example, the drug must be taken in the presence of a physician, which rules out mailing it to patients.“That’s not good for all of these states that are trying to help other people,” said Jolynn Dellinger, a senior lecturi...NBA approves Haslams’ purchase of Lasry’s stake in Bucks

Edens, who purchased the Bucks with Lasry in 2014, will succeed Lasry as the Bucks’ governor and will fill that role for the next five years.“This ownership group has created a championship organization both on and off the court, a standard that is rare in sports, and we highly respect the team they have built,” the Haslams said in a statement released by the team. “We have tremendous appreciation for the impressive history of basketball in Milwaukee and the passionate and loyal fan base.” Terms of the deal weren’t announced. When the Haslams agreed to purchase Lasry’s stake in the Bucks in late February, reports indicated the deal had valued the team at about $3.5 billion. DENVER (KDVR) -- Denver is home to some of the nation's highest-earning households, but those people are far more white than Black. Colorado is chock full of high-value workers. It has the nation’s fifth-highest share of computer, engineering and science occupations, the fifth-highest share of information jobs and the fourth-highest share of workers in management, business and finance. Colorado is one of only nine states with a median family income of over $100,000 and one of only 10 states where this exceeds $80,000. What’s a ‘middle class’ income in Denver these days? In the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood metro area, about half (49%) of white households have an income of $100,000 or higher. Meanwhile, only 26% of Black or African-American households make $100,000 or higher. The gap increases as household income levels rise. Eleven percent of white households make between $100,000 and $124,999, while 10% of Black households do. Nine percent of white households make between $125,000 and $...Investigation underway after elderly woman killed in house explosion in Berlin
