PALO ALTO – A 24-year-old Redwood City man died in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday on Highway 101 in Palo Alto, authorities said.The collision, which involved four cars, happened around 1:15 a.m. in northbound lanes of the freeway at San Antonio Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.The CHP said the Redwood City man was traveling northbound in a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro when he was rear-ended by a 2019 Mazda CX-5. The Chevrolet was left disabled in the fast lane, where it was then hit by a 2019 Honda Accord and a 2019 Nissan Altima.The man was pronounced dead on the freeway. DUBLIN — At about 11:45 a.m. on Sept. 13, deputies at the Santa Rita Jail brought 33-year-old Bryson Levy to a new cell that was already occupied by Yuri Brand, an El Cerrito man on pretrial detention for allegedly living at a stranger’s unoccupied Piedmont home without permission for two days.Just 46 minutes later, Brand was found, dead, underneath a jail mattress and Levy, who stayed on top of Brand’s body until deputies ordered him to be handcuffed for removal from the cell, according to court records.
