31 'very sick' babies evacuated from Gaza's largest hospital, trauma patients remain

Published Thu, 20 Feb 2025 18:39:31 GMT

KHAN YOUNIS, Gaza Strip (AP) — Thirty-one “very sick” premature babies were safely transferred from Gaza's main hospital to another in the south on Sunday, and will be moved to Egypt on Monday, health officials said, as scores of other critically wounded patients remained stranded there days after Israeli forces entered the compound. The fate of the newborns at Shifa Hospital had captured global attention after the release of images showing doctors trying to keep them warm. A power blackout had shut down incubators and other equipment, and food, water and medical supplies ran out as Israeli forces battled Palestinian militants outside the hospital.World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on social media that the “very sick" babies were evacuated along with six health workers and 10 staff family members. They were taken in ambulances of the Palestinian Red Crescent to a hospital in the southern Gaza city of Rafah, where they were receiving urgent care. The b...

What is Illinois' preference for frozen pizza?

Published Thu, 20 Feb 2025 18:39:31 GMT

(NEXSTAR) – When Americans give up on making dinner and settle for a frozen pizza, which types of frozen pizza do they most often settle for?It might depend on where they’re located.A new analysis from Instacart suggests that America is a nation divided by its favored frozen-pizza varieties. The findings, as determined by Instacart’s recent online-ordering data, appear to indicate that varieties like pepperoni, supreme and even veggie pizza have their own little strongholds over certain sections of the country. It’s important to note, however, that Instacart’s analysis doesn’t indicate which pizza varieties are the top-selling in each state, but rather which varieties each state’s customers are ordering at the highest rate over the national average. (When considering sales volume alone, an Instacart analyst confirmed with Nexstar that the actual top-selling pizza varieties, in each state, were either pepperoni or cheese across the board, with nearly 40% of Instacart’s frozen-pizza pu...

Per the release, the latest ruling "stayed a district court's injunction against the law." PAST COVERAGE: Federal judge strikes down a Texas law requiring age verification to view pornographic websites The Texas Legislature passed House Bill 1181 earlier this year, with the legislation requiring adult content websites both verify a user's age and incorporate a warning "describing the harmful medical and societal side effects of pornography consumption," per the release. Why Gophers football has taken steps backward this season

Published Thu, 20 Feb 2025 18:39:31 GMT

P.J. Fleck has bristled at the length of his Gophers tenure being used as a marker for where others believe his program should be this season.“This has nothing to do with Year 7,” Fleck said after a 37-3 loss at second-ranked Ohio State on Saturday. “The last two years are completely different than anything that college football has ever seen. It’s not like, ‘Hey, Year 7, you should be reloading.’ ”Fleck points to the way the NCAA transfer portal and name, image and likeness (NIL) compensation for players have changed the landscape in the past two years. This fall, the Gophers (5-6, 3-5 Big Ten) have fallen off the pace and failed to win the West division championship in its final year of existence.Beyond graduations, the transfer portal and NIL — often combined to one factor — have pinched the Gophers’ overall roster talent and depth. When injuries hit this season, the ramifications of the new landscape are exposed in jarring ways.“There are freshmen running all over that field,” Fl...
