ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- In observation of Juneteenth, Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan announced that all nonessential City of Albany buildings, including City Hall and the Neighborhood Center at 200 Henry Johnson Boulevard, will be closed on Monday, June 19. KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- More than 160 firefighters from dozens of units are fighting a large fire that consumed a wood pallet-building business in Kansas City's Northeast Industrial District.Firefighters responded to emergency at the warehouse near Monroe and Nicholson Avenues shortly after 12 p.m. Thursday. Two days after the NHL season officially ended, the Avalanche made their first offseason move.Colorado acquired Swedish depth wing Fredrik Olofsson from the Dallas Stars on Thursday, trading future considerations to Dallas for the rights to the pending unrestricted free agent. Olofsson will sign a one-year contract with the Avs after coming off a one-year league minimum deal with the Stars, making a $750,000 salary in 2022-23.The left-handed shot was Chicago’s fourth-round draft pick (No. 98 overall) in 2014, but he didn’t make his NHL debut until last season. Olofsson, 27, appeared in 28 games for the Stars. The Parker Police Department is asking the public for help identifying two individuals connected to a string of car trespassings Thursday.At 5:30 a.m. Thursday, two armed suspects approached and robbed several vehicles in the Parker Vista subdivision, according to a news release from the Parker Police Department.One suspect stands at the driver’s side door of a vehicle in the Parker Vista subdivision. A California state bill that would require courts to consider a parent’s acceptance of their child’s gender identity when it pertains to custody and visitation cases has advanced in the State Judiciary Committee.Assembly bill 957, also known as the Transgender, Gender-Diverse, and Intersex Youth Empowerment Act, was introduced by Assemblywoman Lori Wilson (D- Suisun City).
