Newly appointed Colorado state Rep. Tim Hernández clarified that he was rallying for support of Palestinians and not for Hamas on the west steps of the Colorado State Capitol only a day after Hamas militants murdered, raped, and kidnapped hundreds of innocent Israelis near the Gaza border.While we appreciate the clarification, and while we also pray for the hundreds of innocent Palestinians who were killed in recent days as casualties of the war sparked by Hamas, we cannot help but note what Hernández has refused to do – condemn Hamas’ terrorism.“I condemn war for any loss at all,” Hernández wrote in a prepared statement responding to both accusations that he was tacitly endorsing violence by his presence at the rally, and to a video recording a conversation he had with a counter-protester where he appeared to refuse to condemn the violence. “War threatens the dignity of life for citizens in all of Gaza, in all of Israel, and across the Earth, and I hope one day soon we may build a ...2 deputies injured in fire at L.A. At least two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies, were injured in a training accident and fire at Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic Tuesday morning, officials said.The incident occurred around 9:50 a.m. at the facility located at 29320 The Old Road, according to the Sheriff’s Department. Pitchess is among the buildings located at the North County Correctional Facility. It is unknown exactly what occurred that led to the injuries, but initially officials said at least four people, including two who were confirmed to be deputies, were taken to a hospital in unknown condition. At one point, officials said "several" deputies had been injured. The L.A. An on-duty Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputy was involved in a fatal bicycle crash early Tuesday. The incident was reported around 3:40 a.m. in the area of Country Club and Eldorado drives, according to the Sheriff’s Department.The deputy was not operating his vehicle in emergency response mode at the time of the crash.Deputies rendered aid to the injured bicyclist but he or she was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.No further details, including the identity of the bicyclist and what led up to the crash, have been released.The California Highway Patrol took over the investigation.Rose Bowl, other historic venues can use taxes from big events to refurbish stadium

The home of the "Granddaddy of Them All" may be getting an upgrade in the near future.On Sunday, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed into law Senate Bill 96, the Historic Venue Restoration and Resiliency Act, for which the Rose Bowl Stadium & Legacy Foundation has been lobbying for several months, the organization said in a news release.The Pasadena stadium, which celebrates its 101st birthday this month, has been designated a National Historic Landmark, but to "keep up with modern-day safety standards and expectations, there are significant compliance requirements," the release said. A teenaged boy was killed when the electric bicycle he was riding collided with a car in Santa Clarita on Monday.The crash was reported around 9 a.m. at Decoro Drive and McBean Parkway, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
