2 people dead, 2 children shot over weekend in St. Louis City ST. LOUIS - There were multiple incidents of gun violence over the weekend in the city of St. Louis, including two murders and two children shot. One of the latest crimes was a homicide late Sunday night.It's known that the victim in the case was an adult male and police are still searching for the killer Monday morning. This all unfolded on Gravois Avenue and Cherokee Street in the Tower Grove East neighborhood. Officers got the call just before 11:00 p.m. Sunday. Authorities told FOX 2 that the victim was found shot on the sidewalk. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. So far, police have not released the victim's name or age, just that he was an adult male. Details surrounding what exactly happened are still unfolding.That murder happened only about a mile and a half away from another killing over the weekend. Classes canceled at CVPA & CSMB ahead of 1-year anniversary of shooting ST. LOUIS - This week marks an emotional anniversary. A former student with a gun entered Central Visual and Performing Arts High School, killing a student and a teacher. Leaving a deep scar on the community.The St. Louis Public School District has declared October 24 as a day of remembrance for the victims of the tragedy, but classes are canceled Monday and Tuesday as a result of the trauma and stress that still lingers. This applies to students who go to Central Visual and Performing Arts High School and the Collegiate School of Medicine and Bioscience, which shares its campus with the St. Louis Public School District.On that day last year, a gunman shot his way into the south St. Louis school. 15-year-old sophomore Alexzandria Bell and teacher Jean Kuczka lost their lives; several others were injured. Break-in at 'Ulta Beauty' in Fairview Heights, Illinois, police investigating FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. - Police are responding to an early morning burglary in Fairview Heights.Officers arrived at the 'Ulta Beauty' store a little before 5:00 a.m., where our Nissan Rogue Runner Reporter, Nic Lopez, captured footage of the glass door being partially shattered. Warmer days and nights ahead, expected rain chances return  St. Louis weather from Meteorologist Angela Hutti:ST. LOUIS - We will warm back up Monday and stay that way for much of the work week, 10 to 15 degrees above average. Expect a few clouds around Monday, with a slight chance of morning showers north of St. Louis. It's set to be breezy, with highs in the upper 70s. We'll see increasing clouds overnight. We’ll wake up near 60 on Tuesday.   St. Louis radar: See a map of current weather here It's going to be mostly cloudy Tuesday, breezy, with highs near 80. On and off again, rain chances move in on Tuesday night and will hang around into the weekend. Thursday may also bring the best chance of rain. A few storms may be possible on Friday as well. It looks like we will stay quite warm from Wednesday through Friday, with highs well into the 70s before we start to cool down towards the weekend.

Construction surge, slow population growth help Colorado made a dent in its housing shortfall A surge in apartment and home construction in metro Denver combined with slower population growth to chip away at the state’s housing deficit during the pandemic, according to a report from Up for Growth, an advocacy group seeking to improve housing affordability through more residential construction.Up for Growth, in its first annual report on the nation’s housing shortfall, estimated that Colorado faced a deficit of 127,000 housing units back in 2019, which was the second most severe shortfall in percentage terms of any state after California.By the end of 2021, that underproduction had fallen to 101,141 units, which ranked eighth worst in terms of its severity.
