EVIAN-LES-BAINS, France (AP) — Céline Boutier became the third woman from France to win a major championship when she closed with a 3-under 68 for a six-shot victory in the Evian Championship.The outcome was never really in doubt as Boutier began the final round with a three-shot lead and opened with two birdies. Brooke Henderson of Canada had a 70 to finish second.Boutier is the first Frenchwoman to win the Amundi Evian Championship, which was designated an LPGA major in 2013. AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) -- New data shows traffic deaths are trending up in Aurora and statewide. So far this year, Joe Moylan of the Aurora Police Department said they’ve recorded 42 traffic-related deaths in the city, just eight shy of their total in 2022. Starting soon you’ll have to move over for these cars “Being at 42 this year is obviously concerning considering we’ve got five months left in the year,” Moylan said. In Aurora, he said the top three causes are speed, intoxication and seatbelt use. "The vast majority of fatal traffic crashes are preventable, so just paying attention to the road and the people around you, your risk drops a lot,” Moylan said. In 2022, the Colorado Department of Transportation recorded the highest number of deaths on state roads following a previous record-high year. (AP) — A woman from New Hampshire who works for a nonprofit organization in Haiti and her young daughter have been reported as kidnapped as the U.S. State Department issued a “do not travel advisory” in the country and ordered nonemergency personnel to leave there amid growing security concerns.Alix Dorsainvil, a nurse for El Roi Haiti, and her daughter were kidnapped on Thursday, the organization said in a statement Saturday. El Roi, which runs a school and ministry in Port au Prince, said the two were taken from campus. A compromise on the state’s fiscal 2024 budget left behind the legalization of online lottery but went ahead with a plan to offer in-state tuition for eligible undocumented students, the House’s chief budget writer told the Herald Sunday night.House Ways and Means Chair Rep. A Delta flight from Boston to Newark returned to Logan International Airport Sunday afternoon after police received a report that a passenger had made threats about the flight, according to Massachusetts State Police.The unidentified male passenger ended up being escorted by troopers off of Delta Airlines Flight 5770 at Logan International Airport.The passenger’s two carry-on bags were searched by members of the Mass State Police Bomb Squad and explosive ordinance detection dogs. SAN DIEGO -- Enforcement of the City of San Diego's homeless encampment ban is set to begin on Monday after the "Unsafe Camping Ordinance" went into effect over the weekend.The ordinance, which was passed by the City Council last month, bars unhoused residents from camping throughout the city if shelter beds are available. UPDATE 7-30-23 at 6:45 p.m. -- Two of the three children stabbed by their mother are now out of the hospital, according to Thomas Newton, a public information officer for the Onondaga County Sherriff's Office.
