AUSTIN (Nexstar) — Texas lawmakers are one step closer to significantly expanding access to medical cannabis. The Texas House Committee on Public Health this week unanimously approved a bill to increase the THC limits in medical cannabis and expand who is eligible to use it.HB 1805 by State Rep. Stephanie Klick (R-Fort Worth) would change the definition of "low-cannabis THC" to 10 milligrams. Cannabis products are currently limited to 1% THC by weight. It would also expand the list of eligible Texans to anyone with a debilitating medical condition or chronic pain "for which a physician would otherwise prescribe an opioid."The bill has moved steadily through the legislative process with bipartisan support and is now waiting in the House Calendars Committee for a date to be considered in the full House."We want to leave that decision up to the doctors. What we have now is a patchwork where it's okay for some diseases and maladies and others it's not, even though we have the science," ...SCSD: Phone stolen during Facebook Marketplace deal

ST. LOUIS - A new report from Forbes ranked all 30 MLB teams in value with some mixed meanings for the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals were ranked the league's 10th-most valuable franchise heading into the 2023 season, though dropped three spots in rankings from one season ago. The Cardinals franchise is worth $2.55 billion this year compared to $2.45 billion last year, according to Forbes. That marks an increased value of nearly 4%, which is the second-lowest among 2022 postseason squads and lower than the average 12% rise in value among MLB teams. Trending: Missouri’s top barbecue joint is in St. Louis, according to Yelp Perhaps the biggest setback for the Cardinals in these rankings is the recent bankruptcy filing of Diamond Sports Group, the entity that owns TV broadcast partner Bally Sports Midwest. The Cardinals had been on contract to make $1 billion through 2032 from their latest TV deal that took effect in 2017. The bankruptcy filing puts the Cardinals at risk of havi...Parker Police looking for missing 18-year-old

First there was “Cocaine Bear,” and now we have Hot Tub Mountain Lion.A Colorado mountain lion made national headlines after surprising a vacationing couple Saturday night as they soaked in a hot springs pool in Chaffee County, as reported in The Denver Post and news outlets across the nation. Some of the stories, including the Washington Post, cast the mountain lion as a sinister “intruder.” He was a dark figure who “snuck up” and “attacked” the humans.
