DUI Collision on Sunset Road Left Two Critically InjuredLAS VEGAS, NV (August 23, 2023) – Thursday night, two people were sent to a hospital after being seriously injured in a DUI crash on Durango Drive.The incident took place at the area of Durango Drive north of Sunset Road, at around 8:55 p.m., August 10th.According to LVPD, two vehicles were involved in the collision, and both vehicles were occupied by a single driver.Police suspect a 2022 Toyota 4-Runner was stopped for a red signal at Sunset on a southbound Durango. Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Fatal Accident near Sixth AvenueSAN DIEGO, CA (August 23, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, one man was pronounced dead after a pedestrian collision on C Street.Police responded to the scene around 5:20 p.m., near Sixth Avenue and the Fifth Avenue trolley station.For reasons under investigation, a pedestrian crawled onto the road from the sidewalk at the 1000 block of Sixth Avenue. (KRON) -- A man was recently arrested for possessing multiple weapons after fleeing from a police officer, according to the Hayward Police Department. A Hayward police officer attempted a traffic stop on a car with an equipment violation. The driver fled from the officer, driving through a red light before turning onto the next street. The officer did not attempt to pursue the car once he saw where the driver was headed. Instead, the officer waited until the car parked a short distance away, police said. NEW YORK (AP) — A golfer was arrested and accused of beating a goose to death with a golf club at a New York course in a misguided attempt to put it out of its misery, a county official said Wednesday.Witnesses say the man decided to kill the Canada goose after it was struck with a golf ball last week at the Putnam County Golf Course in Mahopac, said Ken Ross, chief of the county’s Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. NEW YORK (AP) — Wall Street is rallying toward its best day since June on Wednesday as pressure that’s built up on stocks from the bond market relaxed a bit. The S&P 500 was 1.1% higher in late trading, trimming its loss for what’s been a dismal August so far. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 173 points, or 0.5%, at 34,462 with a little less than an hour remaining in trading. The Nasdaq composite jumped 1.7%. Big Tech stocks and others that benefit from easier interest rates led the way.
