Denver area homeownership highest since 2009 DENVER (KDVR) — Denver area homeownership is the highest it's been since the nation was spiraling into the effects of the Great Recession. Colorado real estate, both in and outside the capital metro, has been booming since the early 2010s following the housing market crash of the late 2000s. As Colorado became a popular destination for those looking for a new state, property values and home building rates recovered. Apartment values rise higher than homes in Denver, Boulder Homeownership rates have not recovered smoothly in an era of rapid growth, but they have climbed higher than any point in the last 12 years, according to U.S. Census Bureau data. The Denver metro's homeownership rate was 67.7% in the final quarter of 2022, the highest since the first quarter of 2009.The metro homeownership rate had climbed as high as 67.5% in 2015 but quickly fell again as more and more people poured into Colorado. The dog was exploring the area on Saturday when he got into some trouble. Local fire crews responded and they were able to set the dog free without hurting him. Falling utility box strikes woman at Red Line’s Harvard Station A falling piece of equipment at the Red Line’s Harvard Station struck a woman who was transported to the hospital for evaluation.The MBTA said the equipment was a utility box and that it “slid down a column” Monday evening and struck the woman.The area was cordoned off by T staff.The T said it is still working to determine what caused the equipment to detach and strike the passenger, who has not been identified.“We are working to determine what caused the equipment to detach from its mounting. ‘Sundown’ folk singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot dies at 84 TORONTO (AP) — Gordon Lightfoot, the folk singer-songwriter known for “If You Could Read My Mind” and “Sundown” and for songs that told tales of Canadian identity, died Monday. He was 84.Representative Victoria Lord said the musician died at a Toronto hospital.
