LOUIS - A Florissant man was indicted Wednesday in federal court in connection with a fatal shooting at a local gas station earlier this year.Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri said Bryant Pirtle, 20, shot and killed Devon Williams on the morning of Jan. 29, 2023, outside the BP gas station in the 1700 block of South Florissant Road. The city of Los Angeles is exploring new penalties for anyone found to be in possession of a catalytic converter that they are unable to provide proof of ownership for.A new city ordinance proposed by L.A. Councilmember John Lee at last week's city council meeting could lead to suspected catalytic converter thieves having to pay fines as much as $1000 and face as much as six months in jail.The new ordinance offers stiffer penalties and a new tool for law enforcement officers looking to combat the dramatic rise in catalytic converter thefts."My office works very closely with law enforcement here in the city of Los Angeles, and they've become increasingly frustrated with the large amount of catalytic converters that have been stolen from vehicles," Lee told KTLA. Head-on Collision near Olinda Village Left 20-Year-Old Nguyen Nguyen Khao Dinh DeadBREA, CA (March 30, 2023) – Monday night, Nguyen Nguyen Khao Dinh Killed died following a head-on crash on Carbon Canyon Road.The incident happened on March 20th, at around 8:00 p.m., east of Olinda Village.According to reports, two vehicles collided while they were traveling on Carbon Canyon Road. The collision caused the drivers of both vehicles and one of their passengers to sustain injuries.First responders to the crash pronounced 20-year-old Nguyen Nguyen Khao Dinh, of Santa Ana, dead at the scene. Meanwhile, medics transported two other victims to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.Following the crash, crews closed down the areas of the road surrounding the fatal accident for cleanup and preliminary duties.
