AUSTIN (KXAN) — Despite the abnormally warm temperatures in Central Texas, fall is here and along with it a reminder from doctors who say some viruses tend to hit hard this time of year."We are urging people to take advantage of the vaccines and treatments we have available,” said Dr. Rosha McCoy with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMS). “Prevention is always the best way so you don't get sick or in the hospital or get long-term symptoms.”When it comes to the flu, McCoy urges you to get the vaccine as soon as possible.“The flu vaccine is available. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 17-year-old has been arrested following a shooting investigation, according to the Albany Police Department. Upon arrival, officers found a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Scotia man was arrested on Wednesday and is accused of attempting to entice a minor. Zachary Long, 23, faces a minimum of 10 years in prison if convicted. According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), between August 22 and September 27, Long exchanged texts with someone in Albany. In those messages, Long allegedly expressed the desire to engage in sexual conduct with a minor. The DOJ says Long and the other person had discussed plans to meet at a prearranged location to engage in sexual acts with the child. Long arrived at the location on Wednesday, was met by law enforcement, and was arrested. CLAIR, Mo. - A high school English teacher is on leave after school administrators discovered her profile on the pornography website OnlyFans.Brianna Coppage, 28, told FOX 2's partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that her access to school email and other software has been revoked while the district investigates. She also shared that she joined OnlyFans over the summer to supplement her teaching salary. One of the state parole officers injured in Colorado Springs during a hit-and-run crash has died, according to the Colorado Springs police department.Justin Andrew Kula, 41, the alleged driver, was the subject of a CBI Blue Alert for the incident at North Spruce and West Bijou streets on Thursday. He was found and apprehended later that evening about 7 p.m.Two parole officers were struck by a vehicle at about 3:45 p.m. Both went to the hospital, one with serious injuries.Police reported the parole officer’s death in a 10:40 p.m. update on Facebook.
