Opponents of proposed Dodger Stadium gondola protest ahead of upcoming public hearings Supporters and opponents of a proposed aerial transit project that would connect Dodger Stadium with downtown Los Angeles gathered in Chinatown Wednesday, days before L.A. Metro is set to begin its latest round of hearings regarding the project.The Los Angeles Aerial Rapid Transit (ARTT) is a suspended gondola system that would connect the baseball stadium to Union Station and Chinatown at Los Angeles State Historic Park.The gondola is a privately funded zero-emissions transit project that has drawn support from local businesses and transit activists, but has received equal opposition from those whose homes will be underneath the proposed suspended pathways and those with concerns about parking congestion near the gondola stations on game days.If ultimately built, L.A. Construction worker hospitalized after retaining wall collapses at worksite A construction worker was rescued by firefighters and taken to the hospital after a retaining wall collapsed at a worksite in Burbank.The incident happened Wednesday afternoon on the 600 block of Cedar Avenue in the Burbank Hillside area.The corner lot is the site of a 46-unit apartment complex that is currently under construction.Burbank firefighters found the worker trapped underneath dirt and lumber that fell when the wall collapsed.A worker was rescued after being buried by debris in a wall collapse at a Burbank construction site on Nov. 29, 2023. (Burbank Fire Department)Firefighters used a hoist to free the man and pull him from the debris, bringing him to the street where he was then taken to the hospital.Crews from the Pasadena and Glendale fire departments assisted in the response.The accident is currently under investigation.

BART service resumes between SF and East Bay after major delays SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- There were major delays on BART Wednesday due to a person in the Transbay Tube, BART said on social media. Transbay Tube service was halted for more than an hour, but it resumed after 6:15 p.m., BART said. BART service was impacted in the SFO, Millbrae, Daly City and East Bay directions. The red, yellow, blue and green lines were all affected. Trains headed to the East Bay were being turned back at the Embarcadero station. Transbay commuters were being advised to get across the bay on a ferry or bus. The San Francisco Bay Ferry plans to run extra Oakland service as BART recovers. These ferries will leave Gate G at 7 p.m., 7:35 p.m. and 8 p.m. BART first posted about the delay just after 5 p.m. BART police went to the scene to inspect the tube. This is a developing story.
