OCM cracking down on illicit pot shops

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)---The Office of Cannabis Management looked into 71 shops suspected of selling illicit marijuana during the month of November. An estimated value of over $7 million dollars of product was seized, bringing the total value of seized illicit cannabis to $54 million dollars since June."We continue to be out every week working throughout the state and conducting enforcement actions against the unlicensed illegal shops," said Dan Haughney, Director of Enforcement of Cannabis Management. ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man will spend the remainder of his life in prison for a 2021 murder in the Greater Ville neighborhood.A jury convicted Tyrone Williams of first-degree murder and armed criminal action on Nov. 2. Williams appeared in St. Louis Circuit Court on Wednesday for sentencing.Prosecutors said Williams, 36, shot and killed Stephen Byes, 37, on Sept. 8, 2021, following an argument. At trial, Williams claimed he killed Byes in self-defense.Williams and Byes had a child with the same woman. Byes and the woman lived together, across the street from Williams.The two men got into a fist fight on the day of the murder. According to testimony during the trial, Byes returned home after lunch and found Williams asleep on the couch. Byes said Williams was antagonizing them. NASHVILLE — The Rockies’ quest for starting pitching continued Wednesday when they selected right-hander Anthony Molina from Tampa Bay in the major league phase of the Rule 5 Draft.Molina, 21, went 5-7 with a 4.50 ERA and 102 strikeouts through 28 games (27 starts) between Double-A Montgomery and Triple-A Durham in 2023. A suspect was found dead after police responded to reports of a shooting on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas with "multiple victims" on Wednesday. Disturbing security camera footage shows a man sucker-punch another man who was pushing his infant grandchild in a stroller in Calabasas on Tuesday. The victim called the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department around 5:42 p.m. to report the incident, which happened in the 4000 block of Lost Spring Road, a spokesperson confirmed. Local and federal officials have arrested a man after he sexually exploited multiple juveniles online, authorities said.
