DENVER (KDVR) — Denver's migrant shelters are hosting more than 3,000 people each day as the city works to accommodate a rise in daily arrivals.After a lull over the summer, daily occupancy at the city's migrant shelters climbed above 1,000 people in early September and has risen to more than 3,000 daily since early October. As of Tuesday, some 3,091 migrants from Central and South America were in Denver shelters. ‘It’s freedom’: Migrant finds housing after 9 months in Denver shelter The numbers this month are higher than at any point since Denver started publicly tracking its migrant support last winter. SAN DIEGO -- A 63-year-old woman was killed after crashing into a pole on Interstate 805 Monday evening, authorities said.The collision occurred around 11:46 p.m. on I-805 near the State Route 94 transition ramp, Salvador Castro with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said in a news release Tuesday.According to law enforcement, the woman was driving a white Nissan Maxima on I-805 northbound transitioning to SR-94 when her vehicle went off the roadway and crashed into a metal pole. 3.0-magnitude earthquake reported off San Diego coast The driver died at the scene due to major injuries, CHP confirmed. A female passenger was also removed from the car and taken to a hospital with major injuries.
