Two men die after Hyde Park shooting: Boston Police Two men died after they were shot in Hyde Park Saturday night, according to police who are investigating.Officers at about 9:37 p.m. responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 36 Dedham St.“Upon arrival, officers observed an adult male inside a motor vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound,” a Boston Police Department spokesperson said in a statement.That man, who was not immediately identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting.Shortly after their arrival at Dedham Street, officers learned that another man had checked himself into a nearby hospital with serious injuries.“While on scene, officers were notified of a victim that walked into the Milton Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. Cape Cod Canal will be closed to all marine traffic, Sagamore Bridge work moves to final phase The Cape Cod Canal will be closed to all marine traffic for several hours a day this week as workers complete bridge work on the Cape Cod Canal Vertical Lift Railroad Bridge in Bourne.The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District said the bridge work will result in the closure of the Cape Cod Canal to all marine traffic this Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.“For workers to complete the rehabilitation and replacement of critical bridge components, the Railroad Bridge will be lowered each day and the Canal will be closed to all marine traffic when the bridge is being worked on,” the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said in a statement.“USACE officials stated the Canal will be re-opened as early as safely possible each work day,” the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers added. “The schedule is weather dependent and the number of days with scheduled closures will be reduced if work progresses faster than predicted.”USACE safety boats will...

Man dead after shooting in Niles nightclub parking lot NILES, Ill. — A man was shot and killed at nightclub parking lot in Niles overnight.Police reported of a man shot in the Miraj nightclub parking lot in the 8801 Milwaukee Avenue around 1:03 a.m. and found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Police preformed lifesaving measures. The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. 3-year-old boy shot while inside home in Chicago, police say Police said the suspect is a 25-year-old man from Northbrook. Police say the incident is isolated and there is no threat to the community.

Plane catches fire after taking off from Ohio airport COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A plane departing John Glenn International Airport had to return to the Columbus, Ohio, airport Sunday morning for an emergency landing. According to a release from the airport, the plane had a reported engine fire while in the air at around 8 a.m. The plane landed back at John Glenn safely. A passenger on the plane told Nexstar's WCMH it was an American Airlines flight that was heading to Phoenix. The passenger said the pilot reported a flock of geese flew into the engine, likely causing the fire. The passenger also said he and other people on the plane heard a loud clanking noise. Where do El Niño and La Niña get their names? (NEXSTAR) – You may have heard La Niña is over, and El Niño is getting ready to move in. It's one thing to understand what that means for our weather, but what do the words "El Niño" and "La Niña" even mean?Anyone who's taken even a week of Spanish class knows the terms literally translate into "the boy" and "the girl." But it's not immediately obvious what that has to do with climate patterns. The phenomenon's original name, El Niño de Navidad, gives us a few more answers. 3 officers injured in I-44 EB crashes, all lanes cleared ST. LOUIS -  All lanes of the eastbound Interstate-44 lanes were reopened after three officers were injured in a multi-vehicle crash early Sunday morning.The crash happened at around 2:30 a.m. located on South Lindbergh Boulevard, where a Glendale Police Department officer and troopers were with an abandoned vehicle blocking the I-44 EB roadway. Soon after, a tractor trailer rear ended one of the trooper's cars. The trailer also hit the side of the Glendale PD vehicle. Frost Advisory and Freeze Warning early Monday morning, temps in 60s through week All three officers had their emergency lights turned on, as they were sitting inside. The Glendale officer and one trooper were treated at a nearby hospital and released. The second trooper is still in the hospital for additional testing.  This is an open investigation.
