(CNN) — Michael Sopejstal, who lives in Illinois, said he takes a drive through Indiana over to Michigan every few weeks to eat at his favorite restaurant. He also makes sure to buy a Lucky for Life ticket for 10 or 20 draws, according to the Michigan Lottery. On September 17, the retailer at a GoLo gas station made a mistake, accidentally printing a ticket with 10 lines for a single draw, Sopejstal told the Lottery. Sopejstal told the retailer he still wanted it.“I checked my ticket one morning and saw that I had won $25,000 a year for life,” he told Lottery officials. “I immediately started thinking about all the things I could do with the money and whether I wanted to take the lump sum or annuity option. It was an amazing feeling!”The 60-year-old visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim his prize, according to the Lottery. He chose the one-time lump sum payment of $390,000, instead of $25,000 a year for 20 years or life, whichever is greater, the Lottery said.Sopej...Woman hospitalized, 1 detained after shooting in North Miami Beach

Kristaps Porzingis will miss at least one week after the big man suffered a left calf strain in Friday’s loss to the Magic, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said on Sunday.Porzingis left during the third quarter of Friday’s loss and did not return after he felt some tightness. He did not think the injury was serious, posting on Instagram on Saturday that he received good news after reportedly having an MRI. But the big man will miss several games before the Celtics re-evaluate him.“I think it’s just a matter of how he feels,” Mazzulla said. “How it kind of heals when people look at it again after a week or so.”Porzingis will likely miss at least three games – Sunday’s game against the Hawks, Tuesday’s matchup with the Bulls and Friday’s tilt with the 76ers – as he heals his injury. But it’s possible he doesn’t miss more than that thanks to a tweak in the schedule due to the In-Season Tournament. If the Celtics do not qualify for the quarterfinals of the tournament, their next game after F...Body of Avon man missing for 2 months found in well

The state will open more overflow space for those families excluded from Emergency Assistance shelter by overcrowding, according to the Secretary of Housing and Livable Communities.Ed Augustus, the former Worcester City Manager elevated to the new cabinet level position created by Gov. Maura Healey earlier this year, said that the at-capacity condition of the shelter system will require additional — temporary — overflow space while the state’s migrant crisis continues.“We know we need some overflow sites, the use of the state office buildings are really just a short term bridge until we can get some of these overflow sites online,” he said on WCVB. in an interview broadcast Sunday. For weeks now the state has been at or near the 7,500 family shelter capacity set by Gov. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Bill Belichick spent all week dodging questions about the identity of his starting quarterback because that was the only game he could win.Football?Forget it.After losing Sunday’s 10-7 stinker in New York, Belichick is now the face and architect of the NFL’s worst team. The Patriots are 2-9, a byproduct of four years of roster rot and mismanagement; a collection of ill-coached misfits, the best of whom have regressed under Belichick’s watch. How else do you explain the Patriots losing to the team with the NFL’s worst point differential? Or falling to the only franchise with a bottom-six offense, defense and special teams by DVOA? Or succumbing to an undrafted rookie quarterback who couldn’t win a starting job at Syracuse, lives at home and doesn’t fold his own laundry or cook his own meals? And yet that rookie quarterback, Tommy DeVito, was unquestionably the best passer on the field Sunday.Mac Jones couldn’t even make ...Latest news
