Artists wanted for Saratoga Art in the Park SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - This September, Congress Park will be full of local art for sale - and admiring. Saratoga Arts has put out the call, and is seeking artists to take part in this year's Art in the Park celebration. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Art in the Park is a chance for artists to set up shop at Saratoga's Congress Park, showing off their work and selling to new appreciators. Applicants are welcome in mediums including drawing, painting, ceramic art, fine jewelry, mixed media, sculpture, photography, printmaking and fiber art. Applicants must show at least five examples of their work to apply.All vendors must provide their own tents, tables, and other materials needed to display their art. Lawmakers, community reflect on Juneteenth ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) -- On this Juneteenth we celebrate the freedom enslaved people were granted in 1865 after hundreds of years of slavery. Conviction in 2018 Berkeley double murder over a parking spot CLAYTON, Mo. - A St. Louis County jury convicted a man last week on eight felonies for the murder of two men in 2018, one of whom was a bystander struck by a stray bullet.The crime occurred around 12:25 p.m. on Feb. 22, 2018, at the intersection of Fay and Canyon drives.Berkeley police responded to a reported shooting and found Frank Langston suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. I-70 mountain drivers will receive warnings — and soon fines — for violating express lane rules Drivers who weave in and out of the Interstate 70 mountain express lanes or use them when they’re closed soon will receive the first $75 fines as the state begins using cameras to target unsafe driving in its expanding toll-lane network.The Colorado Department of Transportation on Wednesday will switch on a new automated enforcement system that will use cameras and sensors to catch violations in the westbound I-70 mountain express lane between the Veterans Memorial Tunnels and Empire. It plans to expand the system to the eastbound I-70 toll lane and other express-lane corridors — including several in metro Denver — later, though no firm schedule has been announced.Drivers caught violating the rules on the westbound shoulder express lane will receive a warning in the mail during an initial 30-day grace period.Starting July 21, they’ll be assessed fines that begin at $75 for a first offense, with the fine increasing to $150 if it’s not paid within 20 days...

Suspect shot by deputies in Diamond Bar after report of stabbing A man was shot by deputies in Diamond Bar who were responding to an initial report of a stabbing, authorities said Monday. The incident was reported around 11:35 a.m. in the area of Diamond Bar Boulevard between Willow Heights and Crooked Creek drives.Los Angeles County firefighters responded to the scene for a stabbing, while L.A. County sheriff's deputies responded to a call about a man with a bulletproof vest shooting rounds, preliminary reports indicated.A deputy-involved shooting ensued and two people were taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, according to preliminary reports. One victim was described as a male found in the 3000 block of Crooked Creek Drive, while the second victim was found down the block, according to the Fire Department. Child Hospitalized after Bicycle Collision on Cowell Road [Concord, CA] Child Injured in Bicycle Accident on Treat BoulevardCONCORD, CA (June 19, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, one unidentified child suffered injuries in a bicycle collision on Cowell Road.Police responded to the scene around 2:15 p.m., at the intersection of Cowell Road and Treat Boulevard after receiving multiple dispatch calls.Upon arrival, authorities located a child suffering from injuries to the lower legs.According to investigators, a large commercial vehicle struck the young bicyclist who was within a marked crosswalk.
