DENVER (KDVR) -- A man is accused of animal cruelty after six horses were found malnourished in Parker.On July 20, deputies and Animal Law Enforcement officers received an anonymous animal abuse call, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. When they arrived at the home in the 12300 block of Piney Lake Road, they could see the rib cages and hip bones of six horses. Horse rescue loses thousands of dollars after fields washed out During the investigation, they found the barn floor caked in feces and infested with flies, and stalls were covered in standing urine, the sheriff's office said in a news release. They found many of the horses severely underfed with no access to food and water. DENVER (KDVR) -- Starting Aug. 7, people who are under the age of 21 will not be able to buy any firearms in the state of Colorado.Federal law already restricts anyone under 21 from buying handguns, but the new law restricts the purchase of any firearm in Colorado to people who are 21 or over.Colorado's 21-and-up gun lawThe law makes purchasing a gun when you're under 21 years old punishable by up to one year in jail or a $1,000 fine. Anyone who sells or transfers a firearm to someone under 21 could be punished with up to 18 months in jail or a $5,000 fine.There are some exceptions to the law. More specifically, there are three groups of people to whom the new law does not apply. At least three people were transported to Broward Health Medical Center following a wrong-way crash in Oakland Park. Officials said the collision, which occurred on the southbound lanes of Interstate 95, happened just before 3 a.m. Wednesday. “This operation is via [Florida Highway Patrol] in reference to a vehicle going the wrong way, and is a head-on collision with another vehicle,” said a dispatcher on Broadcastify police scanner.
