QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - At least 700 homes were without power on Monday following a crash on Queensbury Road in the town of Queensbury. The outage was caused by a rollover crash across from the entrance to the Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! National Grid was onsite as of around 2 p.m., working to repair the outage. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Rochester man has been arrested for reportedly sending indecent material to a child, according to state police. Nicholas Eckhardt, 41, is facing multiple charges. On March 8, police received information that an adult was having inappropriate communication with a 14-year-old child in Saratoga County. The investigation determined that Eckhardt allegedly sent sexual messages and lewd images to the minor using social media. On July 17, Eckhardt surrendered himself to SP Saratoga for processing. He was charged with first-degree disseminating indecent material to a minor and endangering the welfare of a child. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A Berkeley man pleaded guilty Monday in connection with a 2022 double shooting outside a liquor store that left one man dead and another person injured.The shooting took place on Feb. 25, 2022, outside the Liquor Doctor on Airport Road. A person in one vehicle fired at another car, striking and killing Cincere Ford. The suspect vehicle struck another car in the parking lot before fleeing.Homicide detectives with the St. Louis County Police Department reviewed surveillance video of the shooting and identified Devon Gibson as the shooter. Gibson owned a 2019 Nissan Altima, the same type of vehicle used in the shooting. Gibson's Altima also had damage consistent with the parking lot collision.Gibson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, three counts of armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon - shooting at/from a vehicle, and first-degree assault - special victim. WOOD RIVER, Ill. - A person of interest is in custody following a pre-dawn shooting in Wood River, Illinois.According to Wood River Police Chief Brad Wells, the shooting happened shortly before 4:10 a.m. Monday in the 800 block of Tennyson Street.Police arrived at a single-family residence and found a man who lived there had been shot. TOPEKA, Ill. -- Several Illinois fisheries are working to bring more sturgeon back to state lakes. The Jake Wolf Memorial hatchery is located south of Peoria, Illinois. They say that over 10,000 lake sturgeon hatchlings arrived in July from Neosho National Hatchery in Missouri.They are working with federal and state partners to raise these "living dinosaurs" that can grow to be eight feet long and over 200 lbs. The fish are native to the state but are now a rare sight because of overfishing and habitat loss. The species was on the brink of extinction.
