Schenectady Police arrest Emmett Street gunfire suspect

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Schenectady Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection to a gunfire incident on Emmett Street on Tuesday night. Police say shots were fired during an argument at around 8:12 p.m. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! According to the police, Joel P. Persaud fired multiple rounds from a .22 rifle during the dispute with another party. No injuries were reported and Persaud fled the scene before police arrived.Officers located his vehicle near Strong Street and Avery Streets and conducted a traffic stop. Persaud was taken into custody without incident. Police also recovered the firearm.Persaud was sent to the Schenectady County Jail on a pre-arraignment hold. LOUIS - A criminal contempt case against former Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner and a former assistant prosecutor Chris Desilets has been dismissed, according to new court documents obtained by FOX 2 on Wednesday. After mounting legal challenges, Gardner officially resigned from her role as St. Louis Circuit Attorney on Tuesday, nearly two weeks before she initially planned to step down. LOUIS – The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged a 41-year-old man in connection with the 2022 fatal shooting of a teenager.According to Evita Caldwell, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened on Sept. 30. Investigators did not say where or when, specifically, took place.Caldwell said the victim, Corion Love, was dropped off at a hospital shortly after 2:40 a.m., with a gunshot wound to his back.
