Automated 911 call from iPhone alerts authorities of crash that killed Oakdale woman and Woodbury man

A Woodbury man and an Oakdale woman were killed and another man was seriously hurt in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning on Highway 8 in Floodwood, Minn., about 45 miles west of Duluth.Deputies from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash around 2:45 a.m. Saturday on the 11500 block of Highway 8 after receiving an “automated 911 call from an iPhone stating that the owner had been in a severe crash,” according to a news release.Deputies found Joseph D. Trowbridge, 23, of Woodbury, and Madison J. Warren, 23, of Oakdale, dead at the scene.The driver, Darren A. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Over Labor Day weekend, State Police conducted a DWI enforcement campaign throughout New York. The focus was to crack down on impaired and reckless drivers. MEHLVILLE, Mo. -- A woman struck and killed by a vehicle on I-55 near Butler Hill Road early Sunday morning. She has been identified as Debra Sanfilippo, 50, of Arnold, Missouri.St. Louis County Police say that they were called to the area at around 3 a.m. They found Sanfilippo lying in the roadway. FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- Police say they shot at a suspect in the Fredericktown Walmart parking lot Sunday afternoon. KFVS-TV reports that the officers spotted someone with outstanding warrants. They tried to take him into custody as he was leaving the store at around 1:30 p.m.Police say that they were looking for two suspects. They arrested one of them at the Walmart. The other sped off in a vehicle. He was arrested later that day at a home on Madison County Road after a standoff.It is not clear if anyone was injured in this incident.
