Celtics’ Derrick White misses game at Nets due to personal reasons NEW YORK — For the first time this season, the Celtics’ starting lineup was interrupted as guard Derrick White missed Saturday’s game against the Nets due to personal reasons. It’s believed to be because of the birth of his second child.Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said he didn’t know yet if White would be available for Boston’s next game on Monday night at Minnesota. Al Horford took White’s place in the starting lineup against the Nets.Almost unbelievably, Saturday marked just the second time White has missed a game since he was traded to the Celtics in February 2022, and both times have been because of the birth of his children. The last time White missed a game was Game 2 of the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals against the Heat because of the birth of his first child. Brampton man charged with drunk driving after hit-and-run results in critical injuries A 22-year-old man is facing several drunk driving charges after an early morning hit-and-run in Brampton that left a person with critical injuries.Peel police say around 2:17 a.m., a person was crossing at the intersection of Castle Oaks Crossing and Bellchase Trail when they were struck by a westbound vehicle before fleeing the scene. The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.A short time later, a police car was struck as officers attempted to stop the vehicle.Gurveer Bains of Brampton has been charged with driving impaired causing bodily harm, drunk driving, failing to stop after an accident, dangerous operation causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and fleeing police.Police say they believe the same vehicle was involved in another crash around 2:10 a.m. in the same area. No one was physically injured in that incident.

Shooting, crash on Southwest Side leaves man dead CHICAGO — A man is dead after a shooting and crash on the city's Southwest Side on Saturday afternoon. According to police, it all unfolded just before 4:40 p.m. in the 4900 block of South Honore Street in New City.  3 men found shot dead in Brighton Park overnight: CPD Officers said a man was riding a motorcycle in the area when he was approached by a vehicle. Police say a person inside the vehicle then opened fire on the motorcyclist. According to police, the man suffered several gunshot wounds before crashing into a parked car. The man was taken to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and officers say no arrests have been made.  CPD: Group commits 10 robberies in less than an hour An investigation into the shooting is underway. Mizzou to receive millions to combat rural physician shortage COLUMBIA, Mo. - Millions of dollars are coming to Missouri to help combat the physician shortage in rural areas. Over the past decade, 18 Missouri hospitals have closed, and all but one of the state's counties is in a health professional shortage. Now, a program at the University of Missouri is trying to combat the problem by placing medical students in rural areas. "Overall, we have about 65% of our rural scholars that end up in rural areas, in comparison to 9 to 10% nationwide, so the problem is definitely making an impact on rural access and rural health outcomes," said Kathleen Quinn, head of the Rural Scholars Program at the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
