Letters: Overly critical of pregnancy resource centers and abortion reversal Overly critical of pregnancy resource centersRe: “Colorado will protect pregnant women,” April 16 editorialGov. Jared Polis and Democratic state legislators squandered a chance to demonstrate that they are truly in favor of choice and not simply pro-abortion.Some women immediately believe they have made a horrible mistake after taking the first pill in the two-pill medication abortion regimen. Until Senate Bill 23-190 was signed into law, they were able to access the abortion pill reversal regimen that utilizes natural progesterone to mitigate the abortifacient effects of mifepristone. This doubled their chances of having a continuing pregnancy based on robust, multifaceted evidence accumulated over the past 17 years. Now women in Colorado are effectively told that they can’t withdraw their consent from the medication abortion procedure. SB 190 cruelly gives them only two options – to finish their abortion and kill their wanted baby or omit the second abortion pill, misop...

Calls about the incident, located in the 2800 block of South Sepulveda Boulevard, came in just before 6 p.m. Monday, according to a Los Angeles Fire Department news release. It wasn't until shortly before noon on Tuesday that the seepage stopped, officials told KTLA.Fire officials believe a water pipe burst as well, further complicating the issue.Fire crews used nearby soil to create dams in an attempt to contain the leaking oil from spilling into storm drains. Authorities estimated that around 1,000 gallons of oil made its way out of the ground.  “Only about 20-40 gallons escaped into the storm drain before firefighters contained the rest in the immediate area,” LAFD said. Crews attempt to mitigate an "oil-like" substance seeping up from th...
