AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Today's triple-digit high was our 35th of the year and our 19th consecutive day of a high at 100º or hotter in Austin, the 5th longest stretch ever.You probably noticed the hazier sky today thanks to Saharan dust. This will stay with us to wrap-up the work week, but will slowly fade during the weekend returning our sky to a brilliant blue by early next week. Generally air quality remains okay as this dust is suspended higher in the sky, but sunsets will look extra pretty tonight.Dust from Africa overhead for a few daysWe're forecasting a brief "cool-down" of sorts with high temperatures falling to 102º on Friday. INDIANAPOLIS — Rutgers head football coach Greg Schiano said Wednesday at Big Ten Media Days that his current coaching staff is the “best” of his whole career.Schiano, in part, has the Gophers to thank fpr that.Schiano hired away former U offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca to take the same role with the Scarlet Knights after last season. ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) -- Housing continues to be an issue here in New York. This past session, the legislature couldn’t not agree on a housing plan. A report from the comptroller's office looked into funds for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program. ERAP launched nationwide back in 2021 in response to economic effects from the pandemic. The program is federally and state funded. As of this past May, ERAP distributed $3.1 billion to 250,000 applicants across New York. Bombers Burrito Bar in Albany appears to have closed 81% of that funding went to New York City residents. The program closed to new applications in January. Deputy Comptroller, Rahul Jain explained, who was eligible. "You have to make less than 80% of area median income. LOUIS - Investigators with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a man suspected of a child sex crime in a south city neighborhood.According to Sgt. WOOD RIVER, Ill. - An Alton, Illinois, man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a Wood River man earlier this week.According to Wood River Police Chief Brad Wells, the shooting happened shortly before 4:10 a.m. Monday in the 800 block of Tennyson Street.Police arrived at a single-family residence and found a man who lived there had been shot. POTOSI, Mo. - An investigation is underway after a Park Hills man was found dead near a ditch in Potosi. Police have identified Jacob A. Barton as the victim. Next of kin has been identified. Ellisville man accused of firing at car on I-64 The Potosi Police Department say Barton was found deceased near the area of State Highway 8 and Pearl Road. It's unclear what led up to his death, though an autopsy is pending. No suspect information is available at this time.
