SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – A mass shooting sent nine people to the hospital Friday night. Despite police saying it was a targeted and isolated incident, many people in the area are still on edge.Harry Singh, the owner of Tadka Indian Restaurant, says he was working in the kitchen when the shooting happened. "We heard the pop and then just a couple of minutes later we heard people screaming outside,” said Singh. Hollywood Police Department rushed to the scene of a car pummeled into a building after receiving a call overnight. The incident happened approximately at 3:45 a.m. on Sunday around North 17th Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard. “It’s crazy and it’s honestly a little bit unbelievable,” said a bystander. Hollywood Fire arrived at the scene as well, where first responders extricated one person from the car and transported them to Memorial Regional Hospital. The driver was found conscious, police said. Parts of I-95 in northeast Philadelphia crumbled after fierce flames torched a tanker truck, causing the northbound overpass to collapse.The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, fire officials reported that a vehicle caught fire under the interstate. Currently, all north and southbound lanes are closed for about three to four miles between Bridge Street and Academy Road, causing a traffic jam. (CNN) — Eating cassava flour helped save the lives of four children found alive in the Amazon jungle more than a month after their plane crashed, according to a Colombian military special forces official.The children ate “three kilograms (six pounds) of farina,” a coarse cassava flour commonly used by indigenous tribes in the Amazon region, said spokesperson Pedro Arnulfo Sánchez Suárez.“Days after the crash, they ate the farina which they had carried there… but they (eventually) ran out of food and decided to look for a place where they could stay alive,” Suárez said.“They were malnourished but fully conscious and lucid when we found them,” he added.“Their indigenous origins allowed them to acquire a certain immunity against diseases in the jungle and having knowledge of the jungle itself – knowing what to eat and what not to eat – as well as finding water kept them alive – which would not have been possible (if they) were not used to that type of hostile environment...Latest news
