Browns will try to make playoffs with new kicker, Hopkins out injured. QB Thompson-Robinson on IR

CLEVELAND (AP) — It’s only fitting the Browns will try to clinch a playoff berth with a new kicker.Nothing has been routine this season in Cleveland.Dustin Hopkins will miss Thursday night’s game against the New York Jets — and maybe longer — because of a left hamstring injury he sustained in the first half of Sunday’s win over the Houston Texans. With a win, the Browns will make the postseason for just the second time since 2002.Hopkins, who has been one of the NFL’s most accurate kickers in his first season with the Browns (10-5), is “week to week,” coach Kevin Stefanski said Tuesday. Hopkins got hurt while chasing Texans returner Dameon Pierce on a 98-yard touchdown.Stefanski said it’s too early to say if Hopkins would be back for the postseason. The Browns have been ravaged by injuries since the opener, so losing Hopkins is just the latest challenge for Stefanski and his staff, which has spent the season plugging holes up and down the depth chart. On M...

SHEFFIELD, England (AP) — An alleged racist comment was made by a fan toward Luton player Carlton Morris during his team’s Premier League match against Sheffield United.Luton manager Rob Edwards said the police had talked to Morris after the game at Bramall Lane, which Luton won 3-2. “There was an alleged racist comment, the police are dealing with that, they have spoken to Carlton and got his take on it, so it is with them now, I have no more comment on it,” the Luton manager said. “He is alright — he was, at the time, pretty angry but he seems fine now.”Morris came on as a 71st-minute substitute and created two chances that led to own-goals in his team’s win. The match was the first in the Premier League in 15 years to be officiated by a black referee. Sam Allison took charge of the game. He spoke to both managers following the incident, Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder said. “There was a comment that was made and the referee came over to speak to me and Rob fr...

Fog Tonight, Rain Tomorrow

Published Tue, 18 Feb 2025 21:41:46 GMT

Fog was pretty dense last night and into this morning and watch for that fog to return again tonight. In fact it’s already started to form in some spots. It may not be quite as dense or widespread as last night but still foggy nonetheless. Temperatures will fall to the upper 30s tonight.Tomorrow, unlike today, will start with a few hints of sun before being dominated by clouds for much of the day and a few spotty showers. For much of the day, rain will remain widely scattered. So spotty showers will take us until about sunset (now 4:18pm) and then the rain becomes more widespread after that.Once the steady rain starts in the late afternoon and evening, it will rain all evening and night long. The rain will not be as heavy as the last few storm systems and will fall over a much longer period of time. When everything is said and done, we’ll end up with about an inch of rain give or take a few tenths on either side. The future radar screenshots below show the spotty showers ...
