A DUI driver was arrested following an erratic pursuit and crashing spree in Orange on Thursday.The truck driver was first spotted exiting a Taco Bell parking lot and driving across the street before crashing into a curb near Walnut Avenue and Tustin Street around 9:20 p.m.Orange Police officers attempted to pull him over, but he “suddenly reversed and fled west onto Walnut Avenue,” leading police on a pursuit.As the driver sped away, he crashed into a tree and a parked car in the driveway of a home.Undeterred, he continued driving across Maplewood Street and collided with two additional parked cars in another driveway before smashing into a brick wall.The impact from the wall destroyed the pickup truck while trapping the driver inside, police said.The violent aftermath of a DUI driver’s erratic crashing spree during a pursuit in Orange on June 15, 2023. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- It’s been more than a week since nine people were shot in San Francisco’s Mission District. Recovery for some of those people is only just beginning. KRON4 spoke to a victim's brother about how he's doing now.His brother is praying for a full recovery.Things are starting to look better. Yesterday was the first time Miguel Quintanar was able to leave the intensive care unit -- one week after the shooting."He told me he was just praying and hoping he would be able to see his girlfriend and our mom again," his brother Christian Quintanar said.Miguel Quintanar was one of nine people shot at in the mass shooting in the Mission District on June 9. MANILA, Philippines (AP) — All 120 passengers and crew members aboard a Philippine ferry that caught fire at sea on Sunday were rescued safely and the fire was extinguished, the coast guard said.The M/V Esperanza Star caught fire at dawn while traveling from Siquijor province to Bohol province in the central Philippines with 65 passengers and 55 crewmembers, the coast guard said. It added that it deployed two vessels for rescue and to help put out the flames, which raged for more than five hours.Photos and video released by the coast guard show flames and black smoke billowing from two decks at one end of the ferry. Coast guard personnel onboard another vessel used a water cannon to put out the fire while a fishing boat and one other vessel can be seen nearby.“All those who were onboard the ferry are safe,” Joy Gumatay, coast guard spokeswoman, said in a statement but gave no further details. A suspect remains at large after a man was found shot to death in the North Hills area on Saturday.Los Angeles police responded to the scene near Parthenia Place and Burnet Avenue around 4:20 p.m.Arriving officers found a man in his 40s lying on the road with multiple gunshot wounds. CAIRO (AP) — Sudan’s warring parties began a cease-fire Sunday morning after two months of fighting pushed the African nation into chaos.Residents in the capital, Khartoum, and its neighboring city of Omdurman reported “relative calm” in the first hours of the cease-fire Sunday morning, after fierce clashes were reported the previous day.The three-day truce came ahead of a pledging conference the U.N. and other nations will organize Monday to raise funds to cover Sudan’s humanitarian needs.The U.N. says it received less than 16% of the $2.57 billion required to help those in need in Sudan in 2023.
