ST. LOUIS - How a person of interest who was in handcuffs managed to escape from St. Louis City police officers remains a mystery. However, investigators said that person is no longer wanted for questioning in connection to the murder of a gas station clerk.The family of 22-year-old Iyez Ahmed is grieving after he was shot and killed while working at the BP gas station in west St. Louis early Monday morning."He was innocent, and I hope they catch whoever did that and killed him. I'm sad about it," said Nuruddin Khondakel, Ahmed's cousin.Ahmed's uncle and aunt adopted him after his father passed away. He was originally from Bangladesh. LEMAY, Mo. – A south St. Louis County family is without a home but grateful to be alive after a car went airborne and crashed into their house along Kingston Drive.Piles of debris sit outside the home. An Arapahoe County Sheriff’s deputy brought groceries for a 71-year-old woman and her great-grandchildren after the woman’s boyfriend ate the last two hot dogs in her home as the hungry children watched.Deputies responded to a domestic dispute involving the great-grandmother, Vicki, and her boyfriend, the sheriff’s office said in a Wednesday Twitter post.Vicki, whose last name was not provided, told Deputy Ryan Weiner that she and her boyfriend had argued because her “babies were hungry,” the sheriff’s office said.
