EMERYVILLE — A series of violent brawls involving hundreds of young people erupted at an Emeryville mall Sunday night, leaving one person with stab wounds, according to authorities.Police received a call at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday from a business at the Bay Street mall reporting that about 50 people were causing a disturbance inside the store. Two Orange County women pleaded guilty to their involvement in the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, according to court documents.Michelle Estey, a 54-year-old Newport Beach resident, and 57-year-old Tustin resident Melanie Belger were arrested in Orange in September of 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.They were arraigned on Tuesday, Aug. 22, and each pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to one count of parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. Court records indicate they pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement. (BCN) -- Police arrested a 65-year-old man in connection to a Saturday night hit-and-run case in Santa Rosa. At 5:55 p.m., Santa Rosa Police Department officers first responded to reports of pedestrian being hit by a car at Beaver Street and College Avenue. Witnesses said the 24-year-old man was walking his dog and crossing the street when a white SUV hit him and continued to drive away. (KRON) -- One person is dead and two others are injured following a crash Sunday morning on Interstate 280 in Redwood City, according to the California Highway Patrol.Just before 3 a.m., a black car was traveling southbound on I-280 approaching the State Route 92 overpass when the car, for unknown reasons, crashed into a concrete pillar. The car traveled over a metal guardrail and came to rest between the number one and number two lanes of southbound I-280, CHP said. (BCN) -- Officers from the Santa Rosa Police Department arrested a woman in connection to a three-vehicle hit-and-run collision on Sunday. Police first responded to reports of a collision at 10:03 a.m. on College Avenue at King Street. Two cars were reportedly hit by a black SUV -- one containing a person inside, who was later transported to the hospital, and the other a parked car. Woman wanted in connection to hit-and-run: CHP Santa Rosa Officers were later notified that a woman was yelling at someone on the phone in the parking lot of Community Baptist Church, where she allegedly told someone that her black SUV was involved in a collision. CAIRO (AP) — The head of Sudan’s army made a rare public speech Monday in his first tour outside of the capital since the conflict with a rival general erupted in mid-April.Sudan was plunged into chaos after monthslong tensions between the military, led by Gen. Abdel Fattah Burhan, and the Rapid Support Forces, commanded by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, exploded into open fighting on April 15. In the eastern coastal city of Port Sudan, Burhan said a military operation that included naval and air forces enabled him to leave the capital’s army headquarters safely.
