NEW YORK (AP) — Justin Verlander was called for an automatic ball in the New York Mets’ 2-1 loss to Milwaukee on Monday night for throwing his final warmup toss ahead of the third inning with 27 seconds left on the clock, 3 seconds later than allowed.“He caught me off guard,” said Verlander, who appeared to exchange annoyed words with plate umpire Jansen Visconti. “I know that you’re supposed to get your last warmup pitch in before 30 seconds. DENVER (KDVR) -- A suspect in an illegal dog breeding investigation has been arrested, the Arvada Police Department said.The Animal Management Team and Arvada police officers served a search warrant on a house located in the 7700 block of Carr Drive on June 20. DENVER (KDVR) -- A rafter went missing after his boat capsized in the Colorado River on Sunday afternoon, the Garfield County Sheriff's Office said. The Glenwood Springs Fire Department and GCSO responded to a report of a missing rafter near Grizzly Creek in Glenwood Canyon just after 2 p.m. on Sunday.The sheriff's office said a father and son got in the river at Grizzly Creek and planned on traveling to the New Castle area. The boat flipped shortly after entering the water and the son was able to swim to shore. The 65-year-old father was seen by witnesses holding onto the raft as it quickly headed down the rapids, according to GCSO. First responders focused their search on both banks from the Grizzly Creek Rest area to Two Rivers Park in Glenwood Springs, the sheriff's office said. Efforts continued until dusk and then ended for the night. GCSO said search and rescue will continue to scour the river in the area. DENVER (KDVR) -- Multiple rivers across the state are seeing high water flows due to moisture but officials warn that in some spots, water levels are exceptionally dangerous. “There have been three water-related deaths on the Arkansas River in the past week," Joey Livingston, with Colorado Parks and Wildlife said Monday.Livingston said so far this year across the state there have been a total of 15 water-related deaths. He said there have been five deaths on the Colorado River and four deaths on the Arkansas River. Woman dies after rafting accident in Colorado River “It's concerning to see the amount of fatalities we have seen," Livingston said. He said some of the deaths were either from commercial rafting and some were from private rafting.
