PHILADELPHIA — Freddy Gaudreau, who played all 82 regular-season games for the Wild last season, will miss at least the three starting Thursday night against the Flyers at Wells Fargo Arena.Sidelined by an upper body injury, Gaudreau did not travel here with the team and won’t join his teammates for games Friday at Washington and Sunday in New Jersey.“He’s been dealing with it,” head coach Dean Evason said Thursday.Gaudreau took a wicked blind check from former teammate Ryan Reaves at Toronto on Oct. 14 and had to compose himself on the ice for several moments — while Reaves and Marcus Foligno traded blows — before he was able to skate off.Gaudreau was examined after the hit but returned and played 9 minutes, 51 seconds in the Wild’s 7-4 loss. KINGSTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 36-year-old male from Kingston was sentenced to seven years in state prison. Lyman was indicted by an Ulster County Grand Jury for possessing a loaded 9mm pistol. According to the indictment, Lyman flashed the gun at an individual inside an apartment, who subsequently contacted law enforcement. Lyman was apprehended two blocks away.Police charged Lyman with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Saratoga Springs Police Department is reportedly seeing an increase in catalytic converter theft reports. Targeted vehicles have been Hondas and Hyundais. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - The Lake George Polar Plunge benefitting the Special Olympics NY, is less than a month away on November 18th. Organizers say right now fundraising is far short of the goal.In the Capital District there are 4,000 athletes who are part of Special Olympics NY. Participants will be "freezin' for a reason" after they raise money from family and friends and then splash into the frigid water in Lake George. The goal is to raise $180,000 this year, but so far only $55,000 has been raised. KIRKWOOD, Mo. -- A missing teen from North Carolina was found safe Wednesday night in Kirkwood, Missouri. The Monroe Police Department says that Lauren Heath, 16, was found in a vehicle near the Lowes parking lot and Meachum Park. Convicted sex offender Christopher James Porter, 30, was in the driver's seat.Christopher James PorterHeath was reported missing on October 13 from Monroe, North Carolina. She was last seen on a doorbell camera leaving her home. Billboards were put up to help find her last week.Kirkwood police were investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot near I-44 on October 25. KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Hours after former Kansas City police detective Eric DeValkenaere was transferred from the Platte County Jail to the Missouri Department of Corrections in St. Joseph, a court denied his motion to reinstate an appeal bond, which means he'll remain behind bars pending action from Jefferson City. DeValkenaere is serving a six-year prison sentence for shooting and killing Cameron Lamb in 2019, a judge finding him guilty during a bench trial of involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in 2021.
