JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Wednesday, May 17, State Route 29 will be closed in both directions to facilitate culvert replacement work. The closures impact three miles along Route 29 from the intersection with County Road 116 to just west of the intersection of County Road 131 (Meco Road). LAKE LUZERNE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Painted Pony Championship Rodeo in Lake Luzerne is set to open on June 30. Tickets are now on sale for all rodeo events. FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. - A Villa Ridge man is facing child abuse charges after police found an unconscious 9-month-old in his care.According to Franklin County Sheriff Steve Pelton, deputies went to a home in the 100 block of Baker Street on Monday, May 8, and observed the child had bruises on her face. The child was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital for immediate medical attention. Doctors told authorities the child was suffering from brain swelling, and that her injuries were the likely result of forced trauma. ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ meets St. Charles yet again Investigators met with the homeowner, Aaron Clayton, to discuss the child's injuries. CLAYTON, Mo. - A Riverview man remains jailed after being accused of beating his own son to death.According to Sgt. Tracy Panus, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis County Police Department, officers were sent to the 400 block of Thrift Avenue on May 2 for a child injury. The child's father, Victor Pickering, told police his three-year-old son fell approximately two to three feet off the back steps.The boy was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors discovered the child had suffered serious head injuries, abdominal injuries, bruises all over his body, a lacerated liver, lacerated pancreas, a possible bowel injury, mesenteric bleed, retinal hemorrhaging, acute right clavicle fracture, frontal subdural hematoma, and cerebral edema. A Norco woman was arrested on suspicion of murder after her 17-month-old daughter suffered a fentanyl-related death, officials said Thursday.The incident was reported around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 100 block of 8th Street in Norco.When Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrived they found the baby not breathing.The deputies attempted life-saving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.Investigators also responded to the scene and soon deemed the death suspicious.Eventually, the child’s mother, Jennifer Johanna Allen, 32, was arrested.“During the course of the investigation, evidence was obtained showing fentanyl played a role in the juvenile’s death,” officials said in a news release without elaborating.The investigation is ongoing and authorities did not release further details about the incident.Anyone with additional information is asked to call Investigator Adams at at 951-955–2777.Man kills ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend after 'physical fight' in Long Beach: Police

A Long Beach man killed his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend Wednesday morning, police said.Oscar Alejandro Chan, 41, showed up "unannounced" to the home of his former girlfriend and her partner in the 6200 block of California Avenue at about 6:30 a.m., the Long Beach Police Department said in a news release. "He entered the home, got into a physical fight with" the new boyfriend — only identified as a man in his 40s — shot him in the upper body and left before police arrived, the LBPD said."Detectives believe that the shooting was related to a dispute involving Chan’s former girlfriend and the victim, however, the motive for the shooting remains under investigation," the release said.Chan was located at about 5:30 p.m. in the 11300 block of East Florence Avenue in Santa Fe Springs and placed under arrest.He faces charges of murder, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and illegally possessing ammunition. A man is dead after he was hit by a car in North Hollywood that then drove away without attempting the help.The man, who has not been identified, was hit at about 3:50 a.m. Thursday near Saticoy Street and Hinds Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. One Driver Injured in Wrong-Way Collision near Telephone RoadOXNARD, CA (May 11, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, police arrested Adrian Garcia after causing injury in a DUI Crash along the 101 Freeway.Officers received reports of a northbound vehicle going the wrong way around 1:57 a.m. on the southbound 101 Freeway near Telephone Road.According to reports, officers attempted to forcefully stop the 2002 Mitsubishi Galant by hitting the left side of the vehicle.
