Two two-out rallies came back to bite the Chicago White Sox.And instead of a second straight victory to start the season, the Sox suffered a 6-3 loss to the Houston Astros on Friday in front of 41,453 at Minute Maid Park.Yordan Alvarez delivered the big hit, driving in three with a double in the seventh inning to give the Astros the lead.“All rallies are deflating, but when you get a couple of quick outs and then you give up a few runs, obviously that hurts a little more,” Sox manager Pedro Grifol said. “All rallies hurt.”The Sox couldn’t hold a three-run lead, falling to 1-1 after rallying for a 3-2 win Thursday in the season opener.“Overall, a couple of walks just got to us,” Grifol said. “Especially in the bottom of the order that led to some runs. Hard-fought game. A pitch or two away, a knock or two away and the outcome is different.”The Sox led 3-0 in the sixth, with Eloy Jiménez driving in two runs on two doubles. Technically, the Nuggets lost. But Phoenix’s 100-93 win on Friday evening couldn’t have felt great for the victors.Denver, which was missing four starters, cut a 27-point lead to just four on multiple occasions in the fourth quarter and nearly snatched their most improbable win of the season. On the second night of a back-to-back and with Nikola Jokic (calf), Jamal Murray (knee), Michael Porter Jr. (heel) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (non-COVID illness) all in Denver due to various ailments, Aaron Gordon was game.So was Bruce Brown, Reggie Jackson and Peyton Watson. All of Denver’s contributors gave a deep and profound scare to the Suns, who acted like the game was over in the third quarter.Gordon had a team-high 26 points in 36 minutes, Brown had 16 points and three steals and Jackson and Watson both played far and above their recent roles.Kevin Durant scored 30, while Devin Booker added 27. That they even played in the fourth quarter was a testament to the Nuggets’ resilience...Terrifying video shows carjacker's destructive rampage in Agoura Hills parking lot

In some cases, they are even waiting an hour.Sean Burrows, the president of the firefighters union, the long wait times are creating downstream effects. He says this is not a new problem, but a bill moving through the state capitol right now would make the statewide standard 20 minutes. “We are seeing elongated wait times when an ambulance arrives to the back door of a hospital before a patient’s care is transferred to that hospital staff – we’re seeing times of 45, 60, 90 minutes,” he said.
