That all changed when the school ran roughshod through its regular season slate before embarking on a deep playoff run. Thanks to goals from Sean Fernandez-Davila and Brady Poor, the Patriots knocked off a perennial state finalist in Needham, completing an unbeaten season while winning their first championship since 2011.After a miraculous finish by Oliver Ames to capturie the 2022 Div. 2 boys soccer crown, somehow the Tigers (19-3-1) managed to outdo themselves. Despite losing so many vital pieces from that team, the program reloaded, earning a playoff berth as the No. 6 seed. They went right back to the title bout, where Joey Carney sniped a game-ending goal in overtime to deliver the Tigers a second straight championship. It was the fifth Div. 2 title for the team in the past decade. The Div. ...

Hamas to release 13 Israelis, 7 foreigners for 39 Palestinians after hours-long delay, mediators say

KHAN YOUNIS, Gaza Strip (AP) — Hamas agreed to release 13 Israelis and seven foreigners late Saturday in exchange for 39 Palestinians imprisoned by Israel, Qatari and Egyptian mediators said, after the militant group delayed the second round of swaps for several hours and claimed that Israel had violated the terms of a truce deal. The last-minute delay had created a tense standoff on the second day of what's meant to be a four-day cease-fire. By nightfall, as the hostages should have emerged from Gaza, Hamas alleged that the aid deliveries permitted by Israel fell short of what was promised and that not enough of it was reaching northern Gaza — the focus of Israel's ground offensive and main combat zone. Hamas also said not enough veteran prisoners were freed in the first swap on Friday.“This is putting the deal in danger,” Osama Hamdan, a senior Hamas official, said in Beirut. But Egypt, Qatar and Hamas itself later said obstacles had been overcome, and Hamas listed six women and 3...

ST. LOUIS - A blog released earlier this month from real estate company Norada lists St. Louis as the third "most dangerous" city in the United States. Only Detroit, Michigan, and Baltimore, Maryland, were deemed more dangerous than St. Louis in the rankings. Norada's findings were presented in a blog called "Top 10 Most Dangerous Cities in America." Another St. Louis resident loses property via Recorder of Deeds Office Norada, a California-based firm, says many of the ten cities listed have high violent crime rates, gang violence and poverty, among other factors. A research team analyzed FBI data, albeit from 2019, to create the rankings. Norada claims that St. Louis is plagued by a gun violence epidemic and youth involvement in criminal activities. "The prevalence of firearms, coupled with limited gun control measures, further contributes to the overall crime rates in St. Louis," says the blog. Close Thanks for signing up!
