DC Police identified Stephon Shreeves, of Southeast, as the 14-year-old who was shot multiple times and died early Saturday morning.Officers were responding to the report of a shooting at the 2600 block of Sheridan Road, Southeast at 12:50 a.m. when they found Shreeves suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services found no signs of life and Shreeves was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, according to authorities.The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of a person responsible for a homicide committed in D.C. AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) -- Aurora Police Officer Roch Gruszeczka, who shot and killed 14-year-old Jor'Dell Richardson two weeks ago, has been accused of racial profiling in the past.According to a complaint and settlement made earlier this year, the incident happened on Nov. 10, 2018. The complaint alleged three officers profiled two young Black residents outside of one of their homes. Tevon Thomas got a ride home from a friend to his mother's apartment at Foxdale Condominiums. After arriving, they parked outside the complex and talked for a bit. According to the complaint, a woman who lived in an apartment called 911 and said she was frightened to leave her car and walk inside because of people, Thomas and his friend. She said they were in a vehicle, with bullet holes in the side, and she thought might be watching her. LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) -- Police are still searching for the suspect in a deadly hit-and-run that killed a 49-year-old woman. The Lakewood Police Department said Angela Selvage was hit by a vehicle while she was walking near West 6th Avenue Frontage Road and Jay Street on May 28 around 9 p.m. She later died at the hospital. Police told FOX31 the 911 caller was not believed to be the initial vehicle that hit Selvage. Selvage’s oldest daughter, Samantha Selvage, said her mother was hit twice. “She was hit about 400 yards in front of Jay Street. She was left there by the first car. They ran from the scene and then she was hit again. The second vehicle stopped and tried to help her,” Samantha said. Domestic workers took to the streets of downtown Miami to demand their rights.Nannies, housekeepers and home health aides asked lawmakers for labor protections at a rally held Saturday.Demonstrators gathered outside of the Stephen P. SAN DIEGO -- One person is dead following a shooting at a Juneteenth event in Liberty Station Saturday evening that left another injured, the San Diego Police Department confirmed.According to SDPD, authorities were alerted to the shooting at the center's NTC Park around 6:45 p.m. Authorities say there was a dispute between attendees at the Juneteenth event held in the park, prompting an individual to pull a gun.Two people were struck in the shooting, SDPD said. The second victim was escorted to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their current condition is not known at this time.It is unknown if an arrest has been made in the shooting. A description of the possible shooter has not been disclosed by law enforcement.The investigation remains ongoing. MANILA, Philippines (AP) — A Philippine ferry carrying up to 65 passengers and crew members caught fire at sea on Sunday and a coast guard vessel was deployed to rescue those onboard and try to extinguish the flames, coast guard officials said.The M/V Esperanza Star caught fire at dawn while traveling from Siquijor province to Bohol province in the central Philippines, the coast guard said. It did not immediately say how many people have been rescued from the ferry or if there were casualties.Photos and video released by the coast guard show flames and black smoke billowing from two decks at one end of the ferry as coast guard personnel onboard another vessel used a water cannon to try to put out the fire.
