Kiz: Coach Jared Bednar is correct. On too many nights early this season, the Avs have been a joke. And it’s not funny ha-ha. A team with the top-tier talent of Cale Makar, Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon has no excuse for getting blown out on a regular basis. Is this a leadership problem? Do the Avs miss captain Gabe Landeskog more than we can possibly know? And how does Bednar fix it?Masisak: For a team that spent training camp talking about the standards and culture here, including new guys gushing about how the grass was actually greener, the noncompetitive losses are startling. Bednar didn’t shy away from taking a minor jab at the leadership core after the meltdown against St. Louis. There are two reasons for optimism. One, the underlying numbers are still very good. And two, this team was in the weeds for a while last year and eventually looked like a Cup contender again in the final two months. This core has shown it can figure things out before.Kiz: The glory...CSU run game gets spark from freshman Justin Marshall

All season long, the Colorado State football team has searched for some kind of spark to get its running game on track. Before the start of the season, it didn’t look like that would be a problem with last year’s leading rusher Avery Morrow returning and transfer Kobe Johnson expected to have a significant impact as well. But along the way, both got injured, Johnson so much that the Rams decided to shut him down and redshirt him this season. Morrow is back but hasn’t been 100%.In the meantime, CSU turned to redshirt sophomore Vann Schield, who carried the load for a few games. Then last Saturday in the Rams’ 22-19 victory over San Diego State, the Rams got the spark they have been looking for.In his first college game, true freshman Justin Marshall rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown, making him the first CSU freshman to rush for 100 yards in a game since Ron Harris in 1974.“We’ve had a lot of injuries,” CSU head coach Jay Norvell said. “We lost Kobe. WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden celebrated a “new era” in the relationship between the United States and Indonesia as he met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the White House on Monday, formalizing closer ties with the world’s third largest democracy and a heavyweight player in Southeast Asia. The announcement is a reflection of U.S. commitment to the region before Biden heads to San Francisco for a summit of Asian leaders, where he’s scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Washington and Beijing have been jockeying for influence in Southeast Asia, which is a critical crossroads for trade and a potential flashpoint for global conflict. “This will mark a new era in relations between the United States and Indonesia across the board,” Biden said, sitting next to Widodo. With GivingTuesday coming up a few days after Thanksgiving, the library system is raising money to buy them for every branch.Seven of the county’s 19 library branches have defibrillators in case of an emergency, though there’s never been an occasion when one has had to be used at any of them. The branches that have them already are found in Laurel, South Bowie, Baden, New Carrollton and Hyattsville, as well as the brand-new branches in Bladensburg and Clinton. The county is hoping to raise $20,000 to get them in the rest of the libraries now.“We think that all of our patrons at all our branches should enjoy the ability to come to our branches and be safe in case of a medical emergency,” said Jermaine Gordon, safety and security supervisor with the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System. “We want this in every library.”The estimated cost is about $20,000...Latest news
